New image reveals more playable characters
Posted by Kyarorain on Today at 02:18:31 pm

A new image has surfaced on the Amazon Japan page for Dark Dawn.

Crown's face has been revealed to us, but also, if you look closely, you can see another character is listed below Crown. Also, there only seems to be enough space for nine Djinn per person, which means we are very likely to be having another team of eight in Dark Dawn.

This box art is currently being used on Amazon. It is not confirmed to be official, but it's still something nice to look at in the meantime.

Dark Dawn Spoiler Policy
Posted by Cinder on September 02, 2010, 07:21:35 pm

Hi there,

Now that we know the release date of both the Japanese and English versions (previous release date post updated!) it's time to think about a spoiler policy to be applied to all sections of the website. To respect those who don't get to play the game right away but still want to participate with the site and forum, I think this will be necessary.

As the Japanese game is set to arrive on October 28th, I'd like to enforce it sometime on October 24th-25th. If a European release is around the corner, it would be fair to have it last for a few weeks to a month after that day. Since this is the first time we're doing this sort of thing, we'll keep you updated with reminders and any adjustments.

----------------

Spoiler Policy (Proposal)
(Edit: Fixed what it means for a board to be ignored; haven't used the feature myself...)

1. All Dark Dawn in-game discussion that isn't known unless the game is played should stay in the board called "Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (Spoilers)" which is currently unavailable to everyone. When the board becomes available, activity will be hidden by default. Enable this board in your profile to reverse it if you don't mind seeing the thread titles in various areas of the forum. It is still accessible either way, its activities are just hidden.

2. No revealing spoilers in your profile (usernames, avatars, signatures, etc).

3. You may not be saying it directly, but please refrain from giving obvious hints anywhere with the intention of spoilering others.

4. Even though it's a board with a Spoiler warning already, when you create a new topic/thread, you should still think about its title especially if you're zooming through the game faster than everyone else. Just be careful about revealing heavy information this way, since it doubles as a Help forum as well.

5. We have spoiler tags for posts. Surrounding your text with
these tags
will hide its contents, and will be available for viewing when you give your consent by clicking the button it produces. Please use these if you bring up fairly spoilerish content anywhere that doesn't already have a spoiler warning on it. Absolutely no tricking others into clicking or walking into spoilers, in posts, threads, or private messages.

6. Site news updates will only consist of information revealed to the public, not revealed in-game. I will be updating the upcoming Dark Dawn guides with information found in the Japanese game before converting the information a month later. Update notifications of these pages in the form of news posts will not be revealing.

----------------

Is that too much? Discuss the proposal here, whether it be questions, comments, or suggestions. Some points will obviously phase out the longer the game is available in English. When it is in effect in over a month and you're unsure about something, just send a private message. All the Golden Sun fans waited a fair amount of time for this game, and not everyone can play it as soon as it comes out, so please respect the others!

The consequences? Well, we'd have to discuss that part later, won't we. >:D

In other news, and one that is long overdue, is a shout-out for the musicians out there. I was really hoping to have it done when I change the site to Dark Dawn mode, but I'm worried about it being worse than this current one so I've been staring at it for a long time... My apologies for being very late!

V-jump scans!
Posted by Xakota on August 23, 2010, 12:29:04 am

We need a translator. We can see an encounter with a Jupiter Djinn. Found at goldensun-zone.de, thanks to the member 'drake' for finding them.

-----

Spirits Called the "Djinn"

Venus Djinn - Solo (Flint)
Mars Djinn - Corona (Fever)
Mercury Djinn - Mousse (Chill)
Jupiter Djinn - Gale (Gust)

As we've all noticed, some Djinn have a unique look. There is a good chance that these four are the ones that take on their normal appearance. The Djinn article (as far as I can see) talks about encountering some of these Djinn in a battle, putting Djinn on Set mode, the change in stats and usable Psynergy by doing so, and combining their powers to bring forth the great summons. It is basically a description of the Djinn system.

The cool-looking Mars Djinn on the page is Burn (Forge). It appeared in a previous scan as well.

On the article, it shows Daedalus, Kirin, Atalanta, and the newly updated Neptune whose appearance has changed since E3 2010 (left is old, right is new):

Dark Dawn Japanese website now up
Posted by Xakota on August 19, 2010, 03:10:17 am

Apparently, this just opened.
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/bo5j/index.html
Clicking "World View" gives a wall of Japanese text, which is, unfortunately, just general background info about the Elements and Golden Sun.
Quote from: JP website
The 4 elements "Earth", "Water", Fire", and "Wind"
form the foundation of all things. This science is called Alchemy.
Long ago, the basis of Alchemy was sealed away.
The power of the elements was so mighty
it could destroy the world.

Yet, the elements were also the source of all energy.
Ever since Alchemy was sealed, the world was heading towards destruction.

When the elements were released by a phenomenon called the "Golden Sun", the world was saved.
However, its power was fierce enough to cause disaster to the world;
it was a large price to pay.

It has been 30 years since the world was saved and wounded by the "Golden Sun"...

There's also a video that doesn't show anything new, but confirms that the slopes from the original two games return.

The background of the site also changes the longer you stay, showing official artwork, including one we haven't seen yet of the caves seen at E3.
